He married Donna Walker on April 13, 1979 in Carmi, Illinois, and she survives.Bob attended the House of Prayer, and was in the fabrication department at Champion Labs. He deeply loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, and everything about motorcycles and riding. He was a collector of guns and knives, and loved ice cream no matter the flavor!He is survived by his wife, Donna of Albion; one daughter, Stephanie Crisp, of Fairfield, Illinois; one son, Brian and wife Courtney Powell of Albion; four brothers: Tom Powell of St. Petersburg, Florida, Bill and wife Carolyn Powell of Olney, Illinois, Charles and wife Patty Powell of Albion, and Ronnie Powell of Albion; and four grandchildren: Dallas, Leo Miciah, Keylie, and Robbie. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: James and Dennis; one sister, Nancy; and one granddaughter, Kristina Rose.Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. He married Sue Walker in August of 1965 and together they have three children: Philip Crome (Julie) of Elizabeth, IL, Aaron Crome (Mary) of Marshall, Illinois and Sara Jones of Champaign, Illinois. Richard is also survived by an adopted son, Jaime Ortiz (Jasmine) of Hawaii, a sister, Ruth Ann Michels of Mohill, North Dakota, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Keith (Helen) Crome of Albion; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews, and a host of close friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his stepmother, Delphia Crome; two brothers, George and Wayne “Keith” Crome; and twin sisters, Eva Stevens and Evelyn Harlow.Richard was a graduate of Edwards County High School in Albion and furthered his education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where he received his Bachelors degree in language studies. He later earned a Master’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Crome began his teaching career at Lawrenceville High School and went on to teach at Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, IL. Betty” Cox, 99, of Decatur, passed away at 4:07 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at McKinley Court in Decatur.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Central Christian Church in Decatur, where she was a member for 70 years, with the Reverend Michael Karunas officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur.Betty was born on May 29, 1917 in Hallsville, a daughter of Gillard and Molly (Kindred) Harris. She married Willard M. Cox on November 14, 1938 in Clinton. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1987 in Decatur. She was also preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.She is survived by her daughters, Betty Lou Sturgis, Sandra (Rex) Perry and JoAnn (Tim) Ulland, all of Decatur; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one on the way; and two great-great grandchildren.Betty was a volunteer at Decatur Memorial Hospital and at St. Mary’s Hospital. She also served as an election judge, for many years.
